Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning smash hit musical premiered on Broadway in 2015, and has since been seen on stages around the globe! These July holidays, School of Rock is coming to Newcastle for the very first time for just 6 shows only.
Based on the hilarious hit movie, this rocking musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, face-melting rock band – sensationally performed by a LIVE rock band of talented young musicians!
But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without being discovered by their parents or the school headmistress?

School of Rock is a two-act musical, based on the hit movie. The stage musical on Broadway and in the West End was produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber, who also composed 14 new songs for the show, which additionally feature all of the original songs from the movie. The composer’s numbers “You’re in the Band” and “Stick it to the Man” are well on their way to becoming rock solid standards, while the finale with “Teacher’s Pet” brings audiences to their feet, every show!
School of Rock, with its sensational live kids’ rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music.
